For Older Readers - Ignorant British people who see Sailor Moon as a comic book or worse, cartoon - for children, because animation is only for little kids, obviously - should fork out some cash and buy this manga.I have the first volume of Sailor Moon in Japanese, and although I can t read even one word of it, I can tell that a lot of the time Takeuchi s drawing and writing is loveable, happy and cute.By volume 9, things to have become much more dark and depressing.We are (properly) introduced to Haruka Tenou and Michiru Kaioh - Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune.They are two of my favourite characters, and in my honest opinion, a more believeable and sweeter couple than Usagi and Mamorou.Yes. Haruka and Michiru are both women. And they are gay.Give that your 9-year-old daughter to read.This volume is certainly the most depressing I ve read.Haruka talks of killing The Goddess of Death, Sailor Saturn/Hotaru, who is a ghostly, frail young girl, throughout the manga wondering whether there is a point to her life, and in great pain as Mistress 9 takes over her body.Takeuchi s style is mature, scary and violent in some places. The storyline is deep and meaningful and actually kind of hard to follow sometimes.As usual it ends on a cliffhanger, with young Hotaru becoming the evil Mistress 9.Though don t be put off - there is a little bit of brightness, when Sailor Moon uses the Holy Grail to become Super Sailor Moon. It truly is beautiful.
Excitement all the way! - This is the ninth book in the Sailor Moon manga series and one of the most exciting in my opinion, featuring the death busters, Mistress 9 and Pharaoh 90. I don t want to give away the storyline, but fans of the show and the other books will definitely enjoy this. I thoroughly recommend it.
SM Manga is the best!!! :) - What can I say- its finally here.More about Haruka/Uranus, Michiru/Neptune, and the newly reincarnated sailor Pluto :) Superb, particularly when Sailor Moon gets the Holy Grail thingy, and when the outer scout reveal their secret agenda.Sailor Saturn isn t exactly how you d think a sailor scout would be - harbinger of destruction and all that. Helped end the Silver Millenium, I mean cool!!! >,-> (Silver millenium and Crystal Tokyo are just WAY too easy-ya need a little destruction to make things interesting)Plus, more of the witches 5, Prof.Tomoe, Kaori and the apperance of Mistress 9, and an alternate Rini storyline.THIS BOOK IS THE BEST. So buy it-right now.
